? Debug Notes: 404 Error on /Web_CC2UPD1
DNS + HTTPS + binding + SSL Cert + Folder access + Physical Path
✅ 1. Folder and Files
- Physical Path to Web_CC2UPD1 and Web_CC2UPD2 is correct in:
- IIS > Basic Settings
- AMS > Web_CC2UPD1 root
- Folder contains:
- Default.aspx
- index.html
- david_test.html (test file created but also results in 404)
Observation: IIS is not serving any content from /Web_CC2UPD1 — not even static files.
? 2. IIS Configuration
- Performed full IIS reset using PowerShell (run as admin):
iisreset
- Web_CC2UPD1 folder is shared with Everyone
- In IIS, Web_CC2UPD1 is correctly configured as an Application (gear icon visible)
- Application Pool:
- Assigned: Web_CC2UPD1
- Status: Running
- .NET CLR version: Same as other working environments
? 3. Network / Firewall / HTTPS
- Port 443 firewall rule verified in PowerShell:
- New-NetFirewallRule -DisplayName "Allow HTTPS" -Direction Inbound -Protocol TCP -LocalPort 443 -Action Allow
? 4. Bindings and SSL (IIS and AMC should match)
- IIS Binding Configuration (WC – 2025):
- Protocol: HTTPS
- Hostname: cc2dev.dt.com
- Port: 443
- SSL Certificate: Should match hostname and be valid
- Certificate:
- Current SSL cert in IIS > Bindings is expired
- New certificate requested via IO (Ticket ID: 954866)
- Cert should match: cc2dev.dt.com or new hostname cc2-upg.dt.com
- Locations to check/update:
- IIS > Default Web Site > Bindings > Edit
- AMC > WebSite > Protocol > Edit
? 5. DNS Resolution Check
- Goal: Confirm the hostname resolves to the correct server IP
- DNS Lookup (PowerShell):
- nslookup cc2dev.dt.com
Result:
Server: TOR-DC01.ad.dt.com
Address: 10.172.28.2
Name: cc2dev.dt.com
Address: 10.172.28.110
- Actual server (TOR-CC-APP04) has IP: 10.172.28.118
- Conclusion: cc2dev.dt.com points to a different host than where IIS is running
? 6. Planned Fix for CC2UPD1&2
- New hostname cc2-upg.dt.com requested from IO
- Will be mapped to correct IP: 10.172.28.118
- SSL cert for new hostname also requested
